She/He is just reading his/her book but you just want to meet her/him or at least get her/his attention. What would you do?

Well the apparent ways are...:
1) comment the book,
2) talk about the flight, the destination, etc
3) just smile,
4) drop something,
5) ask for help with the hand luggage,
6) offer the window seat,
7) go to the restroom, and apologize for disturbing,
8) well if you do all of the above and she/he doesnt start talking then she/he is NOT worth it!! :)

1) Comment on the book.
2) Smile, and or laugh. It's contagious.
3) Touch - contact is powerful.
4) Be authentically interested about them - the book, their trip,. Nothing is is appealing to people as someone who is interested in You. Look for that common ground.

Ask them about the book. Talk about it or another book you've read for a very short while. Then lead to another conversation with an interesting non sequitur. You should know quickly if they want to continue talking with you or continue their reading.

this is easy.. you look at the book there reading and say oh i read that a few months ago it was real good. big smile then say hi my name is...would u like to go get some coffiee and sit for a min.

Casually set his book on fire and yell "Look at me"! I find the subtle touch works for me, when I'm not being arrested for assault, that is
