I think it could of easily been the late 60's / early 70's. You had bands like Led Zepplin & Ozzie but others such as Temptations and the Four Tops and you cant forget about the beetles and Elvis. This was an amazing time period.

But I got to thinking about the mid 90's and the emergance of Rap and Hip-Hop to mainstream all the while Hair bands and Grunge were still rocking.

What are your thoughts?

I would honestly say right now. There are so many sub-genres of sub-genres of music that I can't even begin say. The main genres might be Oldies, Rock, Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Techno, Electronica, Classic, Metal.......and there are so many sub-genres and so forth. Today, there are so many different sounds within each genre that some people don't even recognize that what they are hearing is music. In the early 60's and 70's, people might acknowledge that what they are hearing is a certain type of music and they don't like it, but today, you could hear a piece of music and not even be able to identify it.

The 60's and 70's . you have artist from Motown and to heavy metal to groovy folk music and artists like Jimmy Hendrix's , Janis Joplin, The Who, The Doors the list goes on . If I could of been the age I am now ( 29) or younger then it would be awesome!.
These days you have actors that are turning singers and singers that are turning actors and they pop out a baby and have a drug and alcohol problem and have eating disorders. To only want to public to give a big out awwww to them when bad things happen. The 60's actors and recording artists were not perfect , they had drug addictions and problems , but at least they did not make it a public display for everyone and try to have a reality show around them ! Defiantly the 60's and 70 's !!
