the best way to get the wax out is not by ironing or ice...Use a Hairdryer on the heat setting with a old cloth. The heat will begin to melt and loosen the wax, use the cloth to gently wipe away the wax. Some wax will melt down to the base of the carpet, once the majority of the wax is gone, you'll be able to brush the carpet back in place and won't even notice the remaining wax in the base of the carpet. This method also works on linens and clothing.

Remove as much wax as you can with a knife. Place a paper bag over the spot and use a warm iron to melt and absorb the wax. Keep the iron moving so you don't scorch the carpet. When there is only a grease spot use a degreaser like Grease Relief to clean the area.

Lay paper towels over the area of wax and press a warm iron over the area...the wax will absorb into the paper towel...when you get most of it out....then lay ice on the area for a bit...remove it and stiff brush it to return the nap and remove wax within the carpet fibers.
