If gaming prevents you from doing other activities that you find enjoyable, then yes you are addicted.

Answer this honestly: If your parents said tomorrow that the whole family is going on a 1 week cruise to the caribbean followed by a 1 week Disney World vacation, would you be excited, or would you instead be moping and groaning because you won't be able to play the game for 2 weeks?

A love for video games is not an addiction, at least not in the negative sense. A love for video games can lead to a college carreer in computers, networking, programming, and eventually a job, either play testing, writing, or creating new games. Its a very lucrative industry with the recent release of the next gen systems, and a great time to be both a gamer, and a game designer.

Your friends probably miss you. j/k

I could sit and play Wii for hours, too. But every day? Sure, it keeps your mind active, but you need to get up and exercise! Go hang out with your friends. Find yourself a SO! Or at least invest in a Wii so you get moving around.

A true video game addiction is skipping school to play Super Smash Bros. Ask my boyfriend about it sometime... Gah.

enjoying video games, like getting on Yahoo!solutions or enjoying Dungeons and Dragons or gazing a fave television software or regardless of...isn't an habit. it particularly is a decision. human beings make possibilities each and all the time. a number of those possibilities lead a man or woman down a street of repetitive behavior. in spite of the undeniable fact that, they at the instant are not addictions...they're behavior. drugs, alcohol...those are addictions. while you're presently a psychology pupil, you may already understand approximately (or you may examine) "tolerance" and "thresholds" etc.

its an addiction if you cant take your mind off of it for one minite. other than that, its probably just a really good game.

by the way, what is it (the name of the game)? i would like to try it out.

P.S. i play my games for up to 5-6 hours a day, however, i make sure i have my other stuff done first. if gaming is getting in the way of your daily activitys then you might want to cut back on the game time.

Only you know if you are addicted. If your gaming feels compulsory then you might have a problem.
It also depends on how it limits your other activities.
Do you have other activities?
