I would, do you know how much exercise they get doing that! Besides, double dutch doesn't have to be girly. Boys can do a lot of tricks turning it into a guy thing.

But it's good exercise. And It's not like I would want to stop my son, personally, from trying new things and 'experimenting'. Except there are lines I would draw that he canNOT pass. But I don't think it's 'girly' to jump rope. I mean, in some shows you have both males and female doing it. And that's for TV AND real life

If my son wanted to skip rope, he's more than welcome to. Have you ever seen Cirque du Soleil? The things they can do with jump ropes is amazing. And both men and women are involved in the routines. Believe me, what the men do is no where near girly. Also, look at boxers. They jump rope as a way to keep them light on their feet. Double Dutch forces you to move faster than that. I would encourage my son if he was interested in jumping rope.

You are kidding right? Too girly? Come on man as long as the kid is having a good time. Geez, they get so little chance to be kids now a days and your going ruin his fun because you have masculinity problems?

It takes coordination, timing, and stamina to jump rope. Ever watch those who are really good at it? Nothing feminine about it. Girly girls do not do it.

I'd rather he didn't just to save himself the trouble of fighting the other boys that might tease him. Otherwise I don't have an issue with it. All that jumping around is a good way to get rid of excess energy and it's good exercise.

It's hard to do and takes lots of coordination and stamina. Why not let your son try it? You want him to become homophobic. Try it with him.
