They say "someone has to stay here" or "I'm a firefighter" or "I support the police but I'm not a cop"
What a bunch of baloney.
You all can't be Firefighters and the Police don't desperately need new cops.
As for the Vets who already served, we know that most con's on this site are not retired military (thank you for your service).
The fact is that bush needs more troops for the war in Iraq.
Not millions - just Thousands.
If they walked like they talked bush would have all the troops he needs and our guys in uniform would not be on their 3rd or 4th tour in Iraq.
The con's know that it takes more than lip-service to win a war,
but still the Military barely makes it's recruiting goals.
If they really cared the recruters would be turning people away.

Hi Sweetpea.
If that's true how come the military is spread so thin ? Why are so many on their 3rd and 4th tour in Iraq ?
I would be happy to check these facts.
Source please.

okay I checked, the Army missed it's June recruit goal of 8,400
Thats means that just a couple thousand of you con's could have made the difference.
My point was that con's don't really support the Military the way they say they do and I think the June short fall goes to my point.

okay Mr Kerry,
but, are you not a self admitted convict (felon) ? So I guess you could not sign up even with a good back.
my point was that many con's could join and don't because they dont want to risk their lives just run their mouths.

Can't remember who said it, but it's a great quote:
"You're more likely to find a neo-con in a think tank than an Abrams tank"

Are you aware that the majority of the US military is Conservative? There actually was a study done of this (since the entire military can be polled in a reasonable time frame, unlike the polls of the American population that only poll around a 1,000 people). There are more Conservatives and Republicans in the US Armed Forces than there are of any other type of political belief (Liberal, NeoConservative, and Democrat).

Been there and done that, kiss my @$$. Sometimes I think the world would be a better place if we worked on the system Starship Troopers (the book, not the movie) worked on. Only vets can participate in politics. Everyone else just has to sit there and shut the f*** up.

That our military personnel who won a war have been playing police officers in a civil war is criminal. What presidential candidate in the 2000 election was highly critical about troops being used for "nation building." It wasn't Al Gore, just to remind those who conveniently enjoy forgetting history.

You must be pulling facts out of thin air. The military has been surpassing it's recruiting goals.

Yep, speaking of lip service, Do you believe in Global Warming ducky? Are you still emitting carbon dioxide from your car and using electricity for you computer? Don't you believe Mr. Inconvenient Truth? Sounds like the same scenario to me, you believe in something but you are unwilling to practice what you preach.
