To me it would seem so messed up and bizarre if a man is weaker than his wife...I mean seriously.

What kind of strength? Emotionally, the female is always stronger then the male. And I don't mean that makes us SO emotional, you know? But then theres physically strength, which I suppose a male should have more of, but it's not 'wrong' if he doesn't. Because there are females out there that have a lot of physically strength too. I don't think they should not be a guy just because he doesn't have as much physically strength, as long as hes a good person. Then theres mental strength, which both parties should have a lot of

Men are supposed to exhibit strength but there's nothing wrong with a strong woman. Even the strongest man in the world needs someone to lean on. Overall though, I expect him to always be stronger than me, it makes me feel safe.

It is a classic masculine trait to be strong, so I see your point.
But it does not have this way. I mean I would be bored if my girlfriend would only have feminine qualities, so why should men necessarily be so stereotyped. I think it depend on body-types and what type of person you are.

In general given equal size and exercise, men are stronger than women, however, most women are tougher than men. They have more stamina and can stand more stress and pain.
