Membership in the "top 1%" changes over time - - - it's not a fixed system. And it's not about "the top 1%" anyway, never has been.

To protect you from the evils of materialism. Are they nice guys or what?

The answer is very simple. They are socialists and can't stand the fact that some people get out in the real world and get the best education possible and work hard and become a success. They don't want anyone to have more than another with the exception of themselves. They feel powerful when they take away what you and I work hard for and they give to the lazy, uneducated, and unemployed.

i can't imagine that you have anything i'd want. my trucks are paid for. the mortgage on my home and acreage is paid off. i have zero credit card debt. i have 3 horses, egg laying poultry and a fine garden. in a few years i expect to be totally self sufficient and off the electric grid.

i don't give a turd what useless toys you may have cluttering your life. you appear to have an inflated sense of self importance. you're probably one of those primping self involved "metro sexuals" i hear so much about. men who worry about the length of their nose hairs.

"Libs" don't want to take your material things...and they don't loathe material things. I do think they believe that such materialism should be secondary to the care and compassion of others such as those in America who are sick, elderly, underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, hungry, poor, or homeless. Sharing with others can be a beautiful experience. Accumulating "things" results only in an unhappy, unrewarded life. -RKO- 07/19/07

Here let clear me up what appears to be a misconception. No one loathes material possessions. It's the love(and greed) of material possessions. And you can keep yours.

If conservatives was to conserve money, why to they spend it like a drunken sailor on shore leave?

(You see, blanket statements never really work. We can swap this nonsense all day, but it will do nothing to really address the issues, and that is how both parties fail their supporters and ultimately, this nation)

Excellent question! The question is further begged... if wealth is the great evil in society, why do libs want to redistribute it to the poor? If wealth is evil, are not the poor better off in their honorable poverty?

What are you talking about, can we have some evidence? That is like me saying, if republicans like money so much why do they want to take our wages away?

You are NOT one of the top 1%. I want to take from you and give to them, they are BETTER than YOU.

Better yet, why do they have to constantly tell me what material things I should buy!
