I have two, both oldies but goodies: Singin' in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz. Both were so very well cast, and all actors were perfect in their roles. They are musicals with many memorable tunes portrayed both in song and dance. I like feel-good movies that don't make me feel "down" or "thru the wringer" by the time the credits roll. Kelly, O'Connor, and Reynolds were perfect in "Singin'..." but let's not forget Jean Hagen, the oblivious "star" of the movie within the movie, that wanted to run things her way, but had no talent...and that awful voice -- very funny.
Who does not look forward to the many repeat showings on TV of "Oz?" The special effects are terrific considering the movie was made in 1939 -- the witch melting -- flying monkeys -- Garland singing "Over the Rainbow." The dancing of Ray Bolger as the scarecrow -- it was like he had no joints in his body. And, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." I am smiling so much just thinking of them, I may just watch them again now. Yes, I have DVD's of both. I need to get out more.

goodfellas, i can never watch that movie enough. the acting is superb and the music is excellent.
independence day, the action and effect are pretty good, i really like science fiction.
i'm a real sports movie buff, so the following: bad new bears ('78), slap shot, caddyshack, longest yard (70's), white men can't jump. these are really good comedies
i could ramble on, but i won't

My favorite is The Good Son. Elijah and Macaulay were outstanding in this film and at the end where the mother has to make such a big decision on should she pick her son over her nephew while their hanging over a cliff.

The Princess Bride, I've loved since I was a child, at first for the love story, then I enjoyed the satire as I got alder, now it's like visual comfort food, I can pop it in and enjoy it on many levels.

Favorite? Oh gods....that's a tough one. How about flavor of the moment?
Labyrinth is the flavor of the moment. Just watch it and you will understand why......Beyond that, I have a thought for you, David Bowie as the Goblin King.....oh yeah!
