How much does a Camel cost???!!!
Riding a Camel from Cairo to Luxor???!!!
Treasure hunting in Egypt???!!!

Hey man, where are you from... I guess its the effect of too much cartoon network... Sorry just kidding.

First Camels are used for two main things in Egypt... 1- Fun rides in tourist areas... 2- A source of cheap animal protein in butcher shops (although not common)... So you'll have to decide how many Kilos of Camel meat you need (25 pounds/Kilo)... I doubt you'll have a fridge or an oven big enough for the entire Camel ;-)

One thing Camels are not... They are not means of transport in Egypt... So sorry to chatter your dream you can't make the trip from Cairo to luxor on a Camel (Unless you are a renowned adventurer and bring along National Geographic for a special program).

Excavations in Egypt are regulated by the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), which is part of the Egyptian Ministry of culture. For archeologic research you have to apply for a license from there... You must also be part of a recognized archeological institute.. i.e. university or research center or the like... and you must be a qualified archeologist or scientist. Usually an agreement is signed between you entity and the SCA to establish a joint team and a plan of work... A specific area is asigned to your team... and any finds of archeological value remain the property of the Egyptian Government.

Taking (smuggling) any such artefacts out of Egypt... whether you dug them out, found them, stole them or purchased them is illegal under Egyptian laws.

As for your price indices... I guess 'Balsam" covered that well enough.

So good luck with your trip to Egypt... and just try to stick by the regular tourist routine... don't get in trouble.

forget about riding a camel as a means of tranportation. camels are found around the pyramids for tourists to ride for fun . there are no treasure hunts. there are specialists who do this in big numbers, and every other day there's a new discovery in one place or another. all you can do is go to a travel agent, make a reservation in cairo, arrange for a trip to luxor and aswan in upper egypt to see the wonderful monuments of the ancient kings and queens og egypt. in cairo, there are old ancient monuments like the pyramids and the sphinx. there are places in old cairo like khan al khalili and the hanging church where mary and christ hid 2000 years ago, then there is modern cairo with its big boats on the river nile, the wonderful hotels that have beautiful scenery for you to enjoy. then there is the north shore or the red sea beaches to choose from. just go . dont look for money , you wont find it in the air. but dollars are of a high value , so nothing will be expensive.a taxi does not charge you much in comparison to what you pay in the west.try and tel l me the result.

CAMELS ARE NOT MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION HERE...
please get that through your heads. you cant go anywhere on a camel.
people who want to loot some money from tourists who like to take home pictures of being on a camel in egypt stand with a camel near the pyramids and charge you 5$ to take you around for 10 minutes and take a couple of photos.
and as you have obviously done no research whatsoever about your trip, valley of the kings and karnak are quite remote and getting to them in a car or boat is tiring enough but if you insist on it i'm sure there will be a camel owner who'd be glad to hustle some dreen out of your pocket, oh and by the way, which old times are you talking about???
and it's strictly illegal to take any monuments or rare items of historical significance outside egypt...
how old are you????

A camel ride at the pyramids costs between 20-30 Egyptian pounds according to the distance.
A taxi costs according to the distance of course. Inside the city not more than 50 Egyptian pounds.
To enter the pyramids area it costs 50 EP. To enter inside the great pyramid of Cheops it costs 100 EP. To enter in the middle pyramid of Chefren it costs 20 EP.
The price of hotels vary accoring to the level and the area. Search for Egypt and go to hotels, you can book on the spot.
The valley of the Kings is in Luxor, you need to fly 1 hour from Cairo, or take a train overnight in a sleeping wagon.
To go to Karnak temple you can walk if your hotel is near it, you can go by bus if you are among a group or by taxi. Camels are allowed only in special areas.
Excavations are not allowed. It is illegal to go traesure hunting.
The exchange rate is as follows: A US dollar makes 5.69 Egyptian Pounds.
