Whats the point of terrorism?

I understand that its to kill innocent lifes, cause panic, & spread fear. But why? Whats the point?

I don't think the current bunch of terrorists have said yet exactly what their point is. Terrorists terrorise but unless we know why and what they want . . . well, beats me.

Terrorism is a devise used by those that feel powerless against the system. They are not strong enough to attack outright so they use terror tactics to get their point across. It worked for Israel. The bombing of the King David Hotel was an act that brought their point to the forefront. Terrorists use what power they have.
If China invaded the U.S. we would probably use terror tactics against them. It is the poor man's war. That does not make it right but it is effective, they do get noticed.

terrorists want for you to fear them. Fear=power so when you fear them you give them more power. Most are fighting for a particular reason IE~more power, money, land ect. To me there are better ways to get your point across but thats how some people do it.

The desire to control with absolute authority. If they make you scared, they are one step closer to controlling the world.
That's why a quick retreat from Iraq woud deface America and ultimately appease the POINT of terrorism.

They have nothing better to do. They say they are doing it for the religion, but only a true Muslim knows that it is strictly a sin to kill innocents.
