I predict that Hillary Rodham Clinton will be nominated and elected our first woman President in the United States in 2008.

I also predict that Barack Obama will be the Vice President in 2008.

We will have the first woman President and the first Black Vice President in United States History.

I also predict that in 2016 Barack Obama will be elected the first Black President of The United States.

currently (and hopefully always) you must be a natural born US citizen to be president. I don't think there is a superior race or gender. Part one of your question I think stems from several different reasons: 1) for many years it was not even thinkable that a black, or a woman could be elected 2) what woman or minority has run for president. The reason no minorities have run is most likely because their party would not give them the support because of the fear of change (they most likely think the candidate would not win because of their gender/race). I think America as a whole has put those beliefs behind but most of our officials come from privileged house holds and have not had the exposure to the diversity in the work place that the average Joe has. I think it is highly likely that within the next 20 years we will see a minority or woman elected as a matter of fact i think that within the next 8 years being a minority will actually be beneficial in elections.

All presidents have been white males because that is what American voters have elected. If the majority of this country, which is white by the way, wanted a woman or a minority, it would have happened by now, and it may happen in the next election.

Because they usurped power due to their upper body strength, about a million years ago.Only rich white men can be president, due to their connections and deal making capabilities. Also, wars were generally fought by men War,a huge social institution , based on domination.Women could be a leader in a special circumstance, but this is still more or less a Patriarchy.Even women don't want to elect another woman. And if they won't, you can be sure a man wouldn't .We just couldn't take you seriously.Sorry,we tried. Now get back to your job as "clerk".

I will move out of the country if we end up with a woman president. Can you imagine how things will change in the office at work?Women will act like they are superior, caused by all the ego throughout the history.Ohh, man I won't be walking out, I will be running out of this country.

Campaign for Hillary Clinton and/or Barack Obama. Enough votes will get either of them elected and then the question will be more like what took us so long to elect a woman or non-white male as president?

They have up until now been all white males because of past prejudices in our country. Times are changing and we are becoming more broad minded and eventually we will have a president of color or of the female gender, heck some day we may have a gay person of color running our country.

um....White are the majority in this country in case you have not noticed. Women have only had the vote since 1919 so they are making damn good strides. When we have a candidate that is worthy of the office that is a minority, then that person will be elected. I haven't seen either in the running that I would cast my vote for.

Well, of course we'll have a female or minority as the first "non-white male".

That would be the opposite of a non-white male.

I don't think any gender or race is better at leading a country. And I would welcome a black, Spanish, etc., or woman to the office of presidency any day if they project great skills in leadership. It's what's between their ears that counts. Not what's between their legs or their skin color.
