Zwinky may or be not safe for your kid, but it is definately harmful to your computer:

I chose not to install their software. It is not just a site to visit as they install software on your box. I'd really recommend reviewing exactly what they need to install and determine for yourself if you are OK with it. I personally don't want them to take over my browser with plugins or to have applications running within the OS. They should be able to do everything within Java, Flash, .NET, etc... (essentially a virtual machine that is discrete from the OS) but choose to run inside the native OS. I'm not willing to let an outside company have that level of access to my system.
