I've noticed that some of the conservative posters here like to boast about having a college education, yet for some reason, they also like to complain about the left-leaning professors who make up the majority of academia. For some reason, this just strikes me as being rather self-contradictory. After all, don't they have their liberal professors to thank for the degrees they're so proud to have?:)
By the way, in case you're wondering, I am a university-educated Democrat.

Not that there's anything wrong with sociology, but I didn't major in sociology, either. I majored in Spanish and minored in German, and yes, I use them every day!:)

Interesting point... in my mind, this naturally leads to the conclusion that all those university grads were "faking" learning the entire time. I mean, what is college supposed to impress upon you if not critical thinking skills and the ability to grow as a person in order to recognize and combat your own inner biases?
I've had tons of professors both "right leaning" and "left leaning" and still I have appreciated each of them in their own ways. One or two were just bad teachers, period. "Liberal instructors" aren't the problem, it's the student who fails to grasp complexities and the little nuances beyond their own dichotomous thinking.
"We didn't major in sociology. We majored in finance, accounting, economics - - how the world actually works. Not sociology, woman's studies.... - - - how the world works in someone's collectivist fantasy. "
...Higher learning failed this person. =(

i'm uncertain what you're relating... I incredibly have yet to take heed to a conservative say that Obama exchange into no longer THEIR president, the way such distinctive liberals did approximately Bush. i've got not seen any "a million.19.2013 -- Obama's final Day" bumper stickers on any vehicles. Protesters in the time of the inauguration rite have been extremely much nonexistent. i might say the Republicans are maximum fairly taking the extreme street, in comparison to the properly known Democratic Bush-basher...

It's for the same reason affirmative-action beneficiary Clarence Thomas votes against affirmative action. Or Asian American Michelle Malkin thinks interning the Japanese in World War II was a good idea.
These guys have issues. It's cognitive dissonance.

Perhaps the reason some of them brag is because in spite of being subjected to a left leaning professor, they were still able to get a degree. I have heard stories from people who would get failing grades if they took positions contrary to the teachers'. So, from that perspective, I guess they would have more to brag about that a Lib with the same degree and the same professor.

Cause conservatives are smart enough to see through the liberal BS that the liberal professors dish out, I know I did and I'm a 6 year university conservative and proud of it. I got one of those liberal professors fired.

Some of us are just lucky, having degree plans that limit our exposure to the "those that can't do" crowd.
I'm majoring in Computer Science (programming), and most of my instructors are more worried about data types and memory allocation than global warming.

I thank God every day for the courageous liberal college professors who fight to hold back the overwhelming tides of ignorance.
They are our only shield against the fascist mob that is neo-conservatism.
Thank you.
*Oh, and I majored in international studies which is the combination of econ, poly-sci, anthropology, sociology and history, so don't give me any bs about how I don't know how the world works. I've got my nose buried so far up the world's **** that I don't know where it stops and I start.*

A degree is EARNED not "given" by a professor. Cons feel they earned their degree in spite of their professors.
