They went to fetch water but it doesnt make sense because water flows downhill and all they had to do was wait for it at the bottom. Ha Ha.

everyone should know by now that jack and jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. jack fell down and broke his crown and jill came tumbling after. but did they ever have the chance to fill the pail with water? why would the well be on the top of a hill? hmmmmm

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbliing after. Up Jack got and home did trot as far as he could caper and went to bed to mend his head with vinegar and brown paper. Then Jill came in and she grin to see Jack's paper plaster. Her mother whipped her across her knee for laughing at Jack's disaster. Now Jack did laugh and Jill did cry but her tears did soon abate then Jill did say that htey should play at see-saw across the gate.
The original nursery rhyme had fifteen verses...

Clumsly Jack tripped over a rock and whlie he was rolling down the hill he knocked Jill over and both got really dizzy rolling down the hill and lost there dinner on the way down.
