I am particularly interested in the Cirque de Soleil show "O", and I will be in Vegas on July 26th. I heard that buying tickets a few hours before the show can be a big money saver. Is this true? Thanks for your help.

On some shows, you would be able to hit the discount ticket outlets (there are several around town) on the day of the show and get a deal but this definitely doesnt apply to any of the Cirque du Soliel shows. If you dont have tickets weeks in advance, you will be completely out of luck.

The discount ticket places are located in the SHowcase Mall, next to MGM (the big Coke bottle,) in the Hawaiian Village shopping center next to the Polo Towers and one downtown on Fremont St.

Two hours is kinda close. Sometimes you can get them discounted on the day of the show at those Tix for Less or 1/2 Price booths all over the city. Most of the Cirque shows sell out though, so it's unlikely you'd find them at those booths. The other option is to go to the Standby line at the theater a couple of hours before the start time and see if you can get tickets, but I doubt they'd be discounted.

I think this is only good if you're staying in Vegas for a bit. If you're a little crunched on time you don't want to risk running out of tickets, miss your chance at seeing the show, hoping to buy a ticket for super cheap price at the last minute. Maybe you can ask the ticketing office if it will be a full house that night and only buy tickets at the a few hours before IF there are tickets still available for you. Also if you are coming in as a group, you may be seated separately if you purchase late.

WE were in Vegas in June and did go to see "O" but we reserved online before hand and that is what I recommend. First, even though the show tickets run $100 and up to $150 the show does sell out, even if you look on line right now you may not be able to get a ticket. The show does have "dark Days" when there is no show (I think it was Mondays) so you need to factor that in. Then if you do reserve online, you need to go get your tickets the day before otherwise you will be in a long line of people waiting to pick up tickets just before show time.

So you are not likely to save money on a last minute deal and are most likely to miss the show.
