volunteer for a rescue league, or an animal shelter, or a vet, to learn all the things you need to know.

I say it would be better for you in the long run to go volunteer or work for your local shelter. That way you get to see how it works. You can work at a few of them for the time being until you are able to have your own land and housing for your future rescues, so you can take the best of every where and make one kick butt shelter.
Do remember that you can't save all animals. Some may be too sick or mean to let any families adopt them. There is some bad with all the good. Working at an exixting shelter will help you sharpen your skills on character judging.
I wish you the best of luck with your goal. Don't let anyone make you lose sight of it!

I'm proud of your forward thinking and applaud you seeking out some knowledge. KNOWLEDGE by the way is going to be your secret weapon. You should start studying now on everything to do with animals! Search online to find interesting sites that can teach you new stuff. Discovery Kids is a good place to start and you could think about switching the channel from whatever you were watching to the Animal Planet or Discovery Channel. You might be surprised at how interesting these shows are if you can just sit down for a few minutes to try it out.
Remember to keep it fun!!! You don't have to watch a documentary if it's boring! You don't have to read a book that's out of your reading level. If you are finding that things aren't making sense, try to find someone who can help. If that isn't working take a break and look at something else. It's ok to lose interest from time to time. Just don't let this become a "chore" for you or you might not enjoy it after awhile!
Though I agree that a cool job with animals would be lots of fun, remember that a job (especially with animals) is a HUGE responsibility and people will be relying on you to be on time EVERYDAY and ready to work. Even if your best friend is having a birthday party or your classmates are going out to see a movie. Maybe you could start small by creating habitats where you live?!?
A habitat is an area that has things which help animals live. Food and Water are big on this list and you can be a hero. Grab a small bowl and a sponge inside it (you should run this by the parents first) and fill it half with Gatorade and half with tap water. Fill to just under the top of the sponge and don't go over the sponge. Set this out in a mostly shaded spot (not on the ground since the wrong animals will drink it) then give a week and Voila BUTTERFLIES! These guys like to stand on your sponge and drink the "nectar" through a straw built into their mouth. There are also butterfly plants that you can buy as seeds and grow yourself! (they don't grow butterflies, they just attract them). You can cut up some strings and bits of yarn for birds to use as nesting material. Get crazy with the colors and then keep your eyes in the trees. You'll be surprised at how fast your clippings will dissapear if the birds like what you put out. These are just a couple ideas and I'm sure you can come up with many many more.
Just try to remember what it is that you want to accomplish then follow your eyes, ears, (even your nose) and of course your heart. If you do, the rest will come in time. I've worked for both Walt Disney World and Sea Worlds Discovery Cove dolphin park and I know how precious our furry, squishy and squeaky friends can be. (Those are well paying jobs by the way and the sooner you start studying the sooner they can hire you!!)
Remember that it all starts with YOU! So be yourself, and try to take care of ALL of this Gardens living things! You can do it!!

A great way to learn how to run a business is to work for one that someone else runs first. I would volunteer at the local animal shelter to get a feel for how it runs and also to see if it is something you would like to do. You'll start out cleaning cages or something like that and gradually get more responsibility, so don't give up on it just because the task you are doing is not what you want to end up doing. Consider it a good learning experience and "paying your dues". It will give you a lot of credibility with your employees some day when you can tell them that you started out at the bottom.

Probably the best thing you could do right now is volunteer for a local shelter. On my local Humane Society's website, they have a list of volunteer opportunities. Same with the website for the rescue agency from which I adopted my cat. You may also want to put in time at a vet clinic.

Start planning...its never too early to work out the details. You can get ideas for sponsoring and things of that sort. You can also volunteer at a local shelter to get a feel for how this all works. Hope this helps...you would be doing a great thing!

at the beginning, you will not make any funds doing that. in case you want it to be your profession, i'm hoping you do not suggestions not ingesting and residing on your guy or woman look after. i realize it might desire to sound propose, yet all your earnings, if any, could pass to feeding the animals. I hate that animals die in kill animal shelters, however the sorrowful reality is it needs to take place. there is not sufficient room. Plus, maximum those that attempt to open their very own look after get overcrowded and the ASPCA has to return in and take the animals. I even have considered it take place quite some cases. Do you fairly think of vets will want to artwork for unfastened? How could you pay them? Public donations at the instant are not lots and the small quantity you get from rehoming animals will pass to nutrition. canine nutrition is $20 a bag. think of feeding quite some canine. standard, i think of all human beings would desire to pass away the look after working to the ASPCA, whether they don't do it completely. Oh, and incredibly sorry approximately your kittens.

Start saving money.
Plan on a college degree dealing with animals (Veterinarian, Animal Husbandry, etc.)
Volunteer at your local animal shelter, work in ALL the areas. Familiarize yourself with how things are done, from intake to adoption. (this includes cleaning cages....)
