Is 11 to young to babysit if it is what can they do to make money?

I started babysitting when I was 11 and honestly...it's way too early. If anything happened..a life or death situation regardless of the age of the child..adults have difficulty being calm and taking the appropriate steps to save a child's life. An 11 year old will not think that fast, and will panic most defiinitly. Making money is a great thing for a child to do. It instills responsibility, but you must think of the liability when it comes to children's lives. If the 11 year old must babysit, an adult should be in the home with the 11 year while they babysit or an adult should be next door prepared to check in on them often and be available immediately. I have 3 kids and I've used 2 different 18 year olds to watch my children in my home before while I work. I thought 18 was surely old enough and they had their own children assumed there wouldn't be a problem. Honestly, my children are way too precious to me to trust anyone but older family members like Nana or Grandma. Take my advice or don't but I seriously know what I'm talking about.

Yes, 11 is too young to babysit, But here is another idea to try and it is so much fun and you can make a ton of money. Have you ever thought of Dog Babysitting, no I am serious, You can walk them, bathed them, feed them and when the owners go on vacation, you can house sit and dog sit and make even more money. I started this when I was about your age and I made 50.00 a week per family that I helped take care of there animals and if I sitted there house it was a 100.00 a week, but I also help take care of there mail and turn on and off there lights for them to make it look like there was somebody home. But it was a blast that i had and great spending money too!! Hope this help ya

its not too young i babysat when i was 11 and 12.

and just make sure that u get a red cross babysitting class thing if ur 11 because it makes you look more responsible and makes you look like you know what your doing. And you only have to take one class.

And it really depends on who you are babysitting for.
If it doesnt work become a mothers helper like i did a while back.

11 is WAY too young to babysit. Sorry, but I would never have an 11 year old babysit my kids. You could mow lawns, have a bake sale, lemonade stand, etc. Be creative! In the summer, my kids love to have little lemonade stands at the town store.

too young to babysit, but they can be a Mother's helper...meaning they can play with the kids while the Mom is doing chores.
I would not trust my kids to any 11year old. They will not be able to handle a sitaution during an emergency. At least not the 11year olds I know in my neighborhood.

It depends on the maturity of that person. Alot of 11 year olds that I know are responsible enough to watch children and know what to do in case of an emergency. They could also care for pets, clean homes and yards or offer to do just about anything to help out around the neighborhood ( wash cars, cut grass, walk pets, read to an elderly person, etc.)

It really depends most areas it is illeagle to be left alone until you are 13
As far as making money. Talk to your moms friends about doing a little house cleaning. or folding or ironing laundry.

i believe the law is 12 is the youngest you can babysit...mow some yards, sell some lemonade, walk dogs, and stuff like that

YES I THINK SO, UNFORTUNATELY. IF THERE IS AN 11 YEAR OLD THAT IS DETERMINED TO MAKE MONEY, THEY CAN DO WHAT I DID AS A KID. I ASKED MY PARENTS TO LET ME HAVE A GARAGE SALE AND SOLD OLD TOYS AND CLOTHES. I ALSO RECYCLED ALUMINIUM AND PLASTIC FOR EXTRA CASH. IT'S GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND YOU CAN MAKE A FEW BUCKS.
