This is a federal case, which means that it will be at least a year before it is tried. I personally don't care about Michael Vick in the least, but I believe that he should be suspended for the year based on the pattern that Goodell set by suspending Chris Henry and Adam Jones. It would take the focus off of him and the indictment, which the Falcons will have to listen to every week this season with him on the team, and would also be consistent.
If Vick is found guilty, he'll face approximately a 6 year sentence, and since this is a federal case, he'll serve every minute of it. It looks like his NFL career may very well be over.

Stupid question. If Vick is found guilty he will likely be suspended for the year. Beyond that Vick could get a maximum prison sentence of 6 years and a $250,000 fine.
Personally, if the guy is guilty of treating dogs like this I hope he gets the max. The judge handling the case believes in using people to set the tone for future dumbasses involved in dog fighting.

If you suspend Pac Man Jones for the year, then you have to suspend Mike Vick too. That would be fair. You also can make the arguement that Pac Man was there when his situation happened, where Vick was not. I don't know what they are going to do. I want to see the NFL stay out of peoples personal lives. For example, if I got in trouble with the law, my employer can't suspend me or fire me, so why does the NFL have so much control? Let them play.

Yes, absolutely, I want him to be suspended. Not only because this is a horrific crime he has been indicted for, but also because it reflects poorly on the characters of all football players and the NFL in general. To take the attitude that he is innocent before proven guilty in a court of law, doesn't cut it here. I love football, but if he is allowed to play, a little bit of that fandom is lost for me. Watching that prick play would leave a very foul taste in my mouth. I would in this one lone circumstance be cheering for a player to get hurt! I bet there would be some players who would love to take a cheap shot at him too. So maybe he shouldn't play for his own good.

It doesn't matter if he is found guilty of participating in the illegal dog fights. He owns the property he is responsible for what happens on the property and if he is too stupid to keep track of what's happening on his property--too bad for him. Ignorance is no excuse for the law. He didn't know anything about it..give me a break!
It was just a few months ago the idiot was caught trying to smuggle in marijuana in a water bottle. I suppose he didn't know anything about that either. He owned the water bottle, but gave it to his family and friends to have fun with.
The NFL has just gotten to ridiculous for words. I am so disappointed. Hope the jerk goes to jail for a really long time and has to pay out the wazoo.
