Stay positive, and i know your prob sick of people saying when the time is right it will happen but it will.
Myslef and partner started trying for a baby 3 years ago after a year of no trying i went to the GP and he referred us to a specilaist we were told that i was not ovulating and put on Clomid tablets (after 6 months still not pregnant) my partner had tests and was told that he had low morthology (sperm the wrong shape) and that there was next to know chance.
Therfore we got referred for IVF as this was our only option whilst on the NHS waiting list we through ourselves into organising our wedding in septmeber and guess what i am now 5 months pregnant with a little boy.
i wanted to walk away from my fiancee as i could not give him what he wanted and felt like a faliure and not a real woman then the minute we stoped trying it happened.
I am so exciting m advice would be to go to the doctors and get the ball rolling go through the NHS to begin with as you will get treated with them.
if you ever want a chat email me over

The best way is to go to the Dr and seek help. Otherwise you can buy a fertility kit which has recently come onto the market and costs between £150-£200, I think Boots sell it (not sure) and it will check a mans sperm and if a woman is ovulating. If you think this is expensive the private route will cost you around £10,000 - £30,000 and you still need a referral letter from your GP.
A logic step would be:
Sperm - should be white (not clear) and if fresh maybe even wobbling as sperm move around inside, should not hurt when ejaculating if it does it may be too thick.
Ovulation for the woman normally occurs 14 days BEFORE her next period, use an ovulation test or monitor to help detect the best time but also look out for cramps and an egg white type discharge, when you see the discharge you then have maximum 2 days to get pregnant. If you miss these 2 days then you have to try again next month.
Keep a record of the above for 2-3 months and if had no luck go and see the doctor plus stay away from cigarettes, alcohol - especially men and take some vitamins.
Good luck

I would suggest that you both make an apppointment together to see your gp. Doctors are very supportive with sensitive subjects like this. The first thing that a gp would likely do is arrange for some basic fertility tests to be done such a blood tests, semen analysis and a pelivic scan for your girlfriend. If there are any problems then there are a wide variet of fertility treatments available and I am sure that many if not all of them are funded by the nhs.
If you would rather do things privately then your local phone book may have fertility clinic numbers or you should be able to find clinics in your area on google or yahoo.
In the meanwhile ensure that your both following healthy diets and that neither of you are under or over weight. Eat healthily and avoid any alcohol or cigarettes. Folic acid should also be taken while trying to conceive right up until the 12th week on pregnancy.
There are many ovulation tests available from local chemist and this will help ensure that you know when you have sex as its important that you are trying at the correct time of the month.
I wish you both luck and hope that you achieve a successful pregnancy

There are ovulation tests around, but the easier way to find out if there are any problems with fertility for either of you would be to see you doctor and get referred to a fertility clinic- your GP will know of the best and nearest place to go to.
I hope that you have success soon!

You need to see your doctor. They check the man first as it is just a sperm sample and if it is ok then they will start testing your girlfriend. Usually they start with an ovulation chart and thermometer and this goes on for a few months so as they know you are trying at the right time. If there is still no luck the doctors will check your girlfriend further. Good luck and don't forget have fun trying. Don't make it a chore

I think you should both see the doctor and he can start running some tests on you both to see if there is actually a problem.
Understand your stress and fear but it could simply be that you are both trying too hard...has been known!
First things is first...get seen by GP and start the ball rolling. Once the tests have been done you will have a firm idea of where you both go from there.
I wish you all the best x

No, there are no home tests for identifying the problems, unless you are a highly trained pathologist! Pl. go to the doctor, not facing the problem will not make it go away! It may be that both of you are perfectly OK and still may be missing something or if any of you have problem, it may be treatable.
So, pl. do see a doctor for further examination.

I'm sorry to hear of your problem, I have never experienced such a thing but a close friend of mine has and it is heartbreaking and tests the strongest of people. i don't think you can avoid going to your doctor - you need to find out one way or the other if you are able to concieve naturally. There are such things as ovulation tests but I think they are maybe the ones you are aware of ?
Good Luck for the future and I hope all works out.

You can buy an ovulation kit in the chemist's. No home kit for testing sperm though. Swallow your fears and get yourselves to the GP. It might be as simple case of misunderstanding or misreading your partner's ovulation time. Or, you could have a low sperm count. Doesn't make you less of a man, though (at least, that's what your GP will tell you).

hiya there
i used the clearblue fertility moniter
it costs 100 pounds for the moniter and 20 pounds per 2 months after that for the test sticks.
its a really good machine and pinpoints the exact day your ovulating and its very very easy to use.
oh ... and can i prove it works? im pregnant with triplets!
good luck xxx
