I use pads. Tampons hurt too much for me. Plus just feel uncomfortable with something up there all day. I am one of the lucky few who actually do not get cramps so I don't have to worry about midol. As for brands I have found that equate and Always are really good brands.

When I first got my period, I started out using pads. But it wasn't long before I started using tampons, which are much cleaner. I still use pantyliners and the occasional pad for the end of my period when it is light. I honestly am not partial to any brand- I use the cheaper brand versions of tampax. I also like the always clean weave pantyliners.

I don't use painkillers very often- but midol works well. If you don't have midol available go with advil (ibuprofen)- it works better than tylenol.

I use both tampons and pads, I like tampax pearl and I hate anything with wings, it seems like the wings never stay put for me and they always are more of a mess. I follow the directions but they don't work for me. I use tampons when my period is heavy, when my period is light or at night I use pads. I like stayfree pads. And for severe cramping I use Ibuprofen, advil or aleve, whatever I have at hand. Midol and pamperin, ect make my stomache upset even if I take it with food so I don't like taking those kind of pills because I am just trading one source of pain for another. Tylonal isn't strong enough for my cramps. Basically though you may have to do a little trial and error. One person may like a certain brand but you may not. Women's periods are different, good luck in finding out what is best for you.

There are some times when I have to use both because I'll either have to walk a lot or just a really heavy menses. The best brands are Kotex for tampons and Carefree for pads, considering they have everything under the sun including plus size sanitary napkins.

I usually use ibuprofen. It's the only thing that has ever helped with any of my pains.

I use always pads with wings, tampons often hurt, or make cramps worse. I will use them if I have something I really want to do and would be better to use tampon. I just exercise for cramps. The more active I am the better I feel. My doctor says not to use Midol and meds like that, better you just take a tylonol.

I like Always pads because they have wings and keep things more tidy. Midol has been my friend recently, but I haven't tried any other brands. I hear Pamparin is good, too but really don't know from experience.

i usually find that always pads are the best. they dont have an odor and absorb well. I dont use tampons because i think they are disgusting. I find that midol works well but nothing with aspirin which thins your blood and makes you bleed more.

I use Always pads and pantiliners, and Tampax tampons. I don't usually need any medication for my cramps or other symptoms. When I feel low energy, I take a walk to refresh myself.

I use either Kotex or Playtex tampons, and tylenol or motrin for cramps. Heat helps get rid of cramps too, like a heating pad or a hot bath.
