First off, Brazil just won the Copa America with what was effectively their B-team. Most of the big stars, except for Robinho missed that competition which included Argentina, widely regarded as one of the strongest teams on earth. Brazil has always had a team on the bench, which - if it was a team by itself - would be among the top ten on earth. So, if all the stars dropped dead right now Brazil would still have a world class team. Further, I would argue that Brazil might actually do better if it put a team together without the superstars and their egos and just got eleven skilled players who were willing to work as a team.
Secondly, Brazil is producing new soccer stars all the time. They didn't fall from greatness when Pele retired. There is such a fine soccer tradition in Brazil that they will always be a great team no matter what.

Brazil has been, still is and will always be one of the greatest football team in the world, ever. Of course, there will be up and down in any situation so as the team.
However, Brazil is now standing tall together with the greatest teams like Germany and Italy.

If by stars you mean: Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Ronaldo... well, no one will miss them because they're too old now. They were not playing good enough for the team since 2002.
If you mean Ronaldinho and Kaká... well, they have not left Brazil, they didn't want to play Copa América, I believe they wanted somewhat to punish Dunga. Probably they will come back to play the World Cup, if they deserve to.

absolutely. if you watched the copa america you would have noticed that brazil is still the best south american soccer team even without their star players such as ronaldinho, kaka, and dida; and with their stars they can defeat any team in the world on any given day. brazil will always be held to that high brazilian standard, so they will play and grow to that standard.

Of course it will.
do you mean Kaka, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho? HAHA! what did they do in the World Cup??? nothing, Brazil won against Argentina without them but lost to Portugal with them
Who's one of Brazil's greatest rivals? Argentina.
Brazil doesn't need them, they need people who would sacrifice for their team. Those guys did not play against Argentina and al....why? because they knew if they lost, their fame would go down, just like they were mocked in the World Cup for doing nothing. That resting story is all crap.

The players they have are talented.....
It really depends on the coaching and who they can gel together......
Dunga style of coaching will work in the World Cup Qualifiers....but not sure in the world cup itself....
3 yrs left to nurture the talent he has around him.....
Qualifying starts this October for South America

by the looks of it, yes. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaká, the so-considered greats of Brazil, were not included in the 2007 Copa America squad, and Brazil won it. football is like . . . in their blood
