In my opinion NL is how baseball is originally intended to be played. 9 players each bat no stupid DH. Sure more offense might be exciting to some people but I'm sure the purists like me believe that some of the ridiculous offensive number that are being put up are absurd. I don't enjoy seeing scores like 13-8 day in and day out. You could find that score in you local tee-ball game. Does anyone else who really understands the game agree with me? I'd rather see pitching and speed and contact hitting then ridiculous scores and power. But thats just my opinion. Do you agree?

AL

I like the DH, it allows the pitcher not to throw out his arm, and allows him to pitch his best when he doesn't have to go out and bat, or practice batting. He can concentrate on pitching.

I'm an A.L. guy, but not because of the rules because I am an A's fan. I enjoy the National league style of play, but look at my team. They can't hit with a DH. Imagine if they had no DH then they really could not hit. Ya, I would prefer a pitchers duel, it is usually just a higher quality style of baseball when they play deffense and pitch well, but make no mistake about it. A.L. has better players who can play N.L. ball just as well if not better the the NL.

Well, I agree that both leagues should not have a DH. Because some DH's can hit, and only hit. They can't even run, which I think gets boring. But there are not that many ridiculous scores like you have said there. Besides, the hitting AND pitching in the AL is better than the NL.

The way the game was intended to play was for all nine players that play the field also come up to the plate and hit. Scores like 4-3 and 3-2 are what I love seeing when there is actually strategy and manager has to think about. Sac bunts, timely hitting, good pitching, and good defense is what the game is all about. Pitchers these days need to be better hitters also. Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in.

I agree with Fee_Slice. unfourtunatelly you can talk all you want but id be more worried about the NL adopting the DH rather than the AL getting rid of it. In the AL's defense however, I would love it if i were a minor leage player bc it makes more spots available to come up to the bigs and compete for a job.

They don't even play baseball in the American League... the DH has made it a different game entirely. The DH kills all the strategy that helps make baseball such a great sport. A twelve-year-old girl could manage an American League team.

The DH is the worst thing to ever happen to the game, and in my humble opinion, there's only one league that actually plays baseball: The National League.

Both parts appeal to me. The DH is more exciting than watching a pitcher strike out. But sometimes I enjoy the strategy of the NL more.

I'm with you on this issue. One of baseball's first rules is that there are nine players a side, not ten. And I agree that the run figures are turning into football scores. Perhaps it would help to contract both leagues by eliminating weak sisters like Tampa, Washington, and Pittsburgh. Pitching talent has become too stretched.

I happen to agree with you but the DL has its supporters and is not likely to be eliminated form AL play anytime soon. If you were to take a poll today you would have the majority of AL fans in support of the DH and the Majority of the NL fans opposed.

I like the differences. I don't want them to be exactly the same. I don't want the pitcher batting in the AL and I don't want a DH in the NL. It's good the way it is now.
