I recieved a subpoena in a civil case in which i only have to appear yet i have already paid for a vacation that i will be on. It is a fight between my mom and dad and my dad won't pull the subpoena. I have been told by many people to just ignore it including some judges but i would like some other peoples opinions. Once again i do not have to testify i am just subpoened to attend. What should i do?

You should appear. To not appear, you risk being held in contempt of court and possibly jailed.

You obey the subpoena and appear.

Dress nice, out of respect for the court.

As a witness, you don't get to pick when the court calls you. So, you need to reschedule your vacation.

But I think you are mistaken -- the court cannot subpoena you to attend the proceedings. It can only subpoena you as a potential witness, or as a party.

Talk with the Da or judge, cause if you dont show up, could be in jail for contempt of court.

Find out what the consequences are for ignoring it. Weigh the pros and cons and decide accordingly.
