Regardless of whether he is innocent or guilty, the Vick incident is going to be extremely disruptive for the Falcons. Imagine what kind of reactions he will get from the fans, particularly on road games. There's also likely to be a lot of protests. PETA's upset because of the animal cruelty. The black community is upset because they think the charges are racially motivated. And, who knows who else is upset for whatever reason.

Also consider that the preseason practices are open to the public. With all the commotion that's sure to be there, how can this team concentrate on the task of getting prepared for the season?

If I were the Falcons' ownership, I would suspend him with pay until he is found guilty or not guilty, and just plan on not having him available this season. If he's guilty, he's probably going to prison for years and will have to be replaced, anyway. If he's found not-guilty, at least he didn't lose his paycheck. He can then begin working toward returning later in the season or wait until next year.

But, there is absolutely no way the Falcons should let him participate this season until the issue is resolved.

Uhhh, lets look at his record-- 8-8 in 2005 and 7-9 in 2006. When was he going to start performing, even if this latest fiasco of his had not come to light?

He couldn't play without this hanging over his head, he certainly won't be successful if 1000's of fans are booing him and the opposing team is after him like he has a bulls eye on his back, and everytime he gets sacked or hit, the crowd goes wild!!!

Actually, I hope we don't even get to see that. I hope he is in jail and maybe they will have one of his 'rape' stands in prison with his name on it.

He won't be allowed to play...Don't jump the gun and assume that he is allowed to play...I know the NFL so far said he is not being suspended...He's got a court date on the first day of training camp...so, we'll see after that...

Why should he be barred from playing. He is innocent until proven guilty. He is extremely overrated. Falcons should grab Dante Culpepper.
