Do you like classic rock or modern. Rock? I pick classic. I hate modern rock. I tried listening to it but I just don't like it. I love rock from the 60s-80s, mostly 80s as you can tell by my name. I'm only 15 but I'm just not into today's music.

Classic rock, definitely. Much, much better. My favorite bands are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Police, and last but not least, Duran Duran.

I cut my teeth in the 80s on bands like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, and Poison. That led me to discover Kiss, Aerosmith, and Queen, which led me to discover bands like The Who and Clapton. Fortunately, my old man turned me on to The Beatles and CCR. I'm not going to say that modern music sucks, because if you look hard enough, there's some great stuff out there. The problem is, you have to look overseas to find it. Sweden has become the new L.A. for new good-time rock music with bands like Backyard Babies and Hardcore Superstar and Brother Firetribe and The Poodles. England has given us The Wildhearts and The Answer who still proudly wave the banner. There's also a lot of great American based artists from the 80s that still record and perform (like Danny Vaughn) but release their albums overseas only. Check out melodicrock.com for all the updates, and NEH Records (google it) has the best selection of new "classic" rock bands around.

I know this answer will piss off plenty and that's cool. I was born in the 60's, but I never had much use for classic rock. It was beaten into me during my childhood and I am still sick of hearing it. I got into music starting with the 80's and beyond. No looking back too far, just keep moving forward. I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would not turn into my parents, whereas they remain stuck in a time genre and never keep up with anything new. We all have fun bashing today's music, including myself. But there still is plenty that is of high quality right now.

Classic Rock, back in the days the artists could actually write a song or play an instrument without being digitally inhanced to sound good or having a team of a hundred co-writers for their songs.

Amen to that "80s chick". Guess my name could be "80s dude". I hate modern rock as well, so whiny. Unoriginal names too like Fall out boy (radioactive mans sidekick also). Ugh, I cant stand music today not rock or rap or any of it!

I USED to like rock, back in the early 90s even with like Spin Doctors and a little grunge, but certainly not recently!

I actually love all types of rock. I give it all a chance. I mostly listen to the alternative rock station here. I really like a lot of indie rock and emo. I love the 80's too.

Hi
I enjoy classic rock and easy listening. I enjoy the oldies but goodies rock. I like to be able to understand what words they are singing. Not trying to figure the words out. Today modern rock seems to be mostly about somber things and death, sex and robbery. Grant it there are alot of good modern rock too.

I am a very big Barry Manilow fan. I have followed his career since 1974. He is considered the ultimate performer. Who is your fave singer?

Easily classic for me.

It's the same here, modern rock just doesn't cut it. It just doesn't seem original anymore and everything sounds the same in whatever subgenre they're in. I know it's kind of supposed to be like that but it's like a giant game of follow the leader for bands and their fans take up the same habits.
