clear nailpolish works really well. we have some and it brings out the colour of the shells.

To get them really clean first, put them on an ant nest with a cover to keep off the sun which can fade the colours. After a week, remove them. I like the toothpaste idea, but many collectors do not polish shells.

Hey,

This might sound a little unconventional...but I usually use my flouride toothpaste...with a old toothbrush...gave me good results...hope it does the same for you...

To put a shine on them ( after you have thoroughly cleaned them ), use mineral oil or baby oil.
