Republicans have not changed their opinions about the war. They still think that continuing to support a bad strategy is better then admitting that they helped institute a bad strategy.
What they are doing now is positioning them selves for elections in 08. They see the writing on the wall and they know that they cannot be caught standing next to Bush when the music stops.
You watch it will be like rats deserting a ship come November 07.
