Regardless of whether we should have invaded Iraq, we are there now. It is known that if we leave now we will be giving Iraq to Iran and Al Qaida. This in turn is a threat to the United States. We made a big mistake by invading, but wouldn’t it be a bigger mistake to leave it in chaos? What do you think?

I sincerely believe that most Americans support the Troops and believe they are fighting for a just cause., Terrorism. However, i also sincerely believe there are those Senators and Others in government that would welcome Defeat in Iraq only because it would be considered a personal defeat of the President and his support for the War. That may sound far fetched to some ,.but according to Harry Reid and others mostly Democrats and some Republicans..according to those people...the War is already lost. Any Politician that would get up in front of the American Public and say such a thing in my opinion does not deserve to be called an American,.. and does not have the ability to make any positive decisions ..for anyone ..including himself. We are not Defeatists that is totally the wrong signal to give to Extremists...America because of people like Harry Reid has suffered and continues to suffer..due to the cut and run politics they espouse. Remove these people from office,.that put forth a defeatist attitude and call it American consensus,.. they do not speak for me,..and they don't speak for many Americans at all..we are a strong Nation regardless of the silly words of people like Harry Reid.,.

You define win for me and I will be able to tell you. How will we know when we have won the war? I have yet to get a clear answer although I have asked it several times.

How can we know whether we have won or lost if we cannot compare loss to winning because we have no definition of what winning is.

Do we win if we heed the desire of the Iraqi government and leave whenever we want? Do we win when Iraq and most of the Middle East is blown off the map? Do we win if Iraq looks just like us? Do we win if there is no more civil war and the Sunis, Shiites, and Kurds are making nice with one another? Do we win when our kids are no longer being blown up by home made bombs in a war for ????(oil?revenge?) or when our treasury has been fully transferred to Haliburton and others in the military industrial complex? Al Qaeda wasn't in Iraq prior to the US invasion so will we claim to win if somehow they leave? What is the definition of win?

Pulling our soldiers out of Iraq doesn't mean that we will lose the war. Actually we are losing the war! We are encouraging more men to fight against us as we continue to be there. George Bush did exactly what Osama wanted him to do and that was to invade Iraq!

However, the U.S. will never leave Iraq. We will establish a puppet government that will put American interests in front of Iraqis, build a military base and suck up their oil.

Don't worry. We will be like parasites just like what we did to other countries as well. Knocking down democratic governments and putting a brutal dictator in place. Creating and supporting terrorists. Killing innocent people in the name of democracy and capitalism and causing people to live in poverty.

To leave Iraq now, is..a terrible choice. Yes--we went into Iraq, etc. But we're there now..and if we leave, guess what? We're going to bring some guests. Those guests would be Iraq people. Looking for revenge and destruction against our people. I guess the bigger question is: Where would you rather fight? Iraq, or on our own soil..America?

We've removed their leader from power and had him hung. We've killed over 650,000 Iraqis and our president has repeatedly stated that the mission is accomplished. Why are we still there? How long does stabilization take? Aren't we making matters worse by staying longer in a nation where no one wants us there. I say the longer we are there, the more hatred we are creating for the US and the more US soldiers lives lost every day. Now that we have removed the so called repressive regime from power, we need to get out of there and let them rebuild their own country.

Define win. Complete peace, no gunfire? The complete and total destruction of all anti-US groups in Iraq? What would satisfy you as "winning"? We could declare the war over tomorrow, claim victory over Hussein's government and say its now up to the Iraqi people to establish a fair government. Since this administration was loudly outspoken against "nation building" while running 2000, they certainly wouldn't want to interfere in the Iraqi people choosing their own way, would they? Surely not this group, they're humanitarians and good christian gentlemen and ladies.

No, no one who wants the U.S. to lose a war can be called an American.

That said, there are plenty of Americans that feel that Iraq was a mistake, that invading was not justified, that the war cannot be won, and that the Iraqis should be given the opportunity to defend themselves the way any sovereign nation does.

But I don't know any Americans who want the U.S. to lose; anyone who does is not an American. I think all true Americans want the U.S. to win (however you feel you want to define the term), but there is much disagreement over whether or not we actually ARE winning, whether or not we CAN win, or whether or not we WILL win. That doesn't make them any less of an American to do what they think is best for the country.

yes, sadly there are "Americans" who want us to lose. They see it as a way for the dumbs to win the white house. When those elected leaders use are current war to gain votes and influence they are creating the path to our loss and opening Pandora's box.Like it or not, agree or oppose;we are at war.To cut and run will only set us up for a future conflict that will be many times worse than the one we are in now.If we leave, those radicals and fundamentalists will use our lack of resolve and defeat as a tool to expand their twisted interpretation of Islam.NO SOLDIER LIKES WAR.NO COUNTRY PREFERS WAR TO PEACE.For those who feel that GW is "happy" to be CIC during this war,you have no true idea of what you are talking about.

The WAR was won - we deposed Saddam Hussein.
It's the rebuilding of Iraq in our image that is beyond our reach.
