how to I go about fixing this? he keeps trying to take my mail to see what I am getting and I know he is opening it. Can I do anything about this?

First of all, it is illegal for him to open your mail. You need to talk to your lawyer about it. Then go to the post office and let them know what is going on. They will help you fill out a change of address form with just your name on it and they may put a notice on the board for other postal workers to be aware of the problem to keep him from doing it again. You might also contact each company or magazine who you know sends you mail and give them your address personally or over the phone. Before contacting them, get a post office box so you can give them an address he is not familiar with. Good luck

Go to the post office. You may need to get a PO box. They shouldn't just be forwarding your mail without notifying you first. Every time I've changed my address, before they start to forward it, I get a notice of what they are going to do and what steps to take if someone else is trying to change your address. It's mail fraud. He could get into big trouble.

You should go to the US post office and have them hold your mail. Just your mail. And then you should pay for a PO box at the post office so he cant go through your mail. And try to move out or have him move out asap.

Contact your post office and speak with the supervisor as they should be able to separate the mail. It does not make a difference if your married. If you live in two different address they have to separate it or have them put it on hold and you pick it up. In order to pick up mail in NY you have to show you license or a Gov ID.

Turn him into the post office for tampering with the U.S. mail. If the mail is addressed to YOU (your name) and he is opening it he is committing a federal offense and can be put into prison for it.

talk to your lawyer there is a piece of paper you can get from the judge called a seperstion agreement, then you are not responsible for anything that other other person does, check into it. Good Luck I had a bitter divorce where there was pettiness like you are experiencing!!
