I can certainly symphatize with anyone who is going through this situation. Our legal system is upside down when it comes to those who have served their time and are not out and need to work, su pport families, go back to school, do something that is productive and keep them out of the revolving door again.

Wherever you live, there should be some advocacy groups desiged to help parolees get back on their feet. For a fact, I know that you should be able to get food stamps and some training to prepare you for work. Some states even offer and allow stipends for the men and women getting out in an effort to help them get back on their feet. Contact the social services office.

Tons of places. It depends on what kind of job you are looking for. If you are going to be washing dishes, don't even bother telling them you are a parolee. Any entry level I applied for when I got out, I just left that area of the application blank. Alot of employers don't even ask.

If you are a professional of some sort, it's a different story. Still, most employers don't run a crimminal background check, so...it's up to you.

If your parole officer calls to verify and let's them know you are on paper, different story. But, still, he problably won't violate you if you beg for forgiveness.

Your PO isn't helping you? Most restaurants will give you a chance based on the severity of your crime. Sales. Your best bet is trade work you know like construction, get into what you know. Start your OWN business eventually. That's what my hubby did. It's hard though and takes a while but it's worth it.
