Why clouds look white in colors sometimes, sometimes blackish, sumtimes gray. What is the reason behind this?

Mainly water content makes the difference.If moisture is less the cloud will be white.Usually the high clouds(cirrus,cirrostratus,and cirrocumulus) will always be white in colour.Because ,at that height,the temperature will be very low, and the low temperature can hold only less moisture.
If the moisture content is maximum, the cloud will be dark.If the moisture content is in between, the colour wiil be grey.

Presence of dust, water droplets etc., affect the wavelngths of light scattered differently and thus the color changes. When water droplets are more, the cloud looks dark.

My only guess would be water because the clouds seems to change when it looks like rain.

It's to do with whether the sun shines on them too
