Hey, what's with the "Joe Torre sucks" comments from respondents? He's the man!! Anyway, Sheffield is not the man, nor is he a man. As long as he leans on the race card and cries foul over anything, he will never be a complete human being. He reaches for any possible racism. When Andrea Kramer asked him why Derek Jeter gets treated right while being black, Sheffield says he's "black and white." How pathetic he sounds reaching like that. Without his pride and mouth, he would have been a mainstay with one team his whole career and have a guaranteed spot in the Hall of Fame. I knew the Yankees should have gotten Vladimir Guerrero instead. He's 110% consistent and plenty humble.

I used to like Gary Sheffield. He was a pretty good player when he played for the New York Yankees. When he moved to the Detriot Tigers and is still playing for the Detroit Tigers; Sheffield is doing great. Hitting home runs. Of course he hit home runs when he played for the New York Yankees, but the reason why I don't like Sheffield as much as I did is because there is no reason for this. He should just stop with all this talk about Joe Torre. In my opinion I don't think Joe Torre hates Gary. Joe Torre likes / liked all the players that he had. Sheffield is just taking this whole thing to far. He needs to get back to playing more baseball and stop spreading rumors. Sheffield is a great guy, but there is no reason for this.

No it's not funny. Yes, I can believe what he said about Joe Torre, Kenny Lofton agreed. I mean just because you consider the guy a jerk or whatever doesn't make him a liar. And yeah he has played for seven different teams because he has "requested" trades in most cases but he hasn't said anything bad about all of those managers either. He has never complained about his stint in Atlanta, for example. He left Florida because they trade everybody. He requested out of LA and he requested out of NY. I mean people think they know everything just because the guy has been traded. Why was he traded from the Brewers and why from San Diego? Do you know? I highly doubt it!
The Brewers antagonized Sheffield by subjecting him to not-so-random drug tests, a byproduct of his relationship with Dwight Gooden (his uncle). I mean how shady is that?!
The Padres had payroll concerns so they dealt not only him but others. It wasn't because Gary did anything!

Joe Torre may be the best manager of my lifetime. If he treated blacks differntly dont you think you would have heard about it by now. Sheffield is nothing more than a black turd, he has been on seven different teams because he is a cancer no matter how good he is.

I think what Gary Sheffield said is BS he was just angry he was no longer needed with the Yankees. Do i blame him for being angry? NO i dont. he play his heart out and thru many injuries with the yankees. He just really needs to shut up and play dats it. Like how many times can you criticize a team or teammate and not get a ball thrown at your head?

sheffield is talented but he likes to run his mouth
i cant believe what he said about torre, but i cant disprove it either
the only peopel who can are sheffield, torre, and the yankees in the clubhouse
if another black player on the yankees or former yankee (cano, bernie williams, etc) came out and said sheffield is out of his gourd and that torre isnt racist
i mite wet myself from laughter at sheffields humiliation

Joe Torre fines all idoits regardless of races when it's needed.
Sheffield is so full of it. If he thought Torre was unfair to other races why did he sign with the Yankees and why did he beg to stay when they traded him to the Tigers?

Gary Sheffield is a very good player. He needs to shut his big mouth up. I new it was a big mistake when the Yankees let him go. He is still a feared presence at the plate. To all Red Sox Fans can someone say CHOOOOKE!!!!!!Watch out!!! The Yankees are on your ***.

Gary Sheffield is a jerk. Plain and simple. Yes he is a good ball player but, he is a jerk and that is why he doesnt stay long on a team. It has nothing to do with race. Can you tell I can't stand him?..lol..
