i think if you do it little by little he won't notice. try setting it ahead 10 minutes every 2 minutes so he thinks that the day is flying.

I think your boss is not an idiot, that's why he (or she) is the boss. So, of course the clock begin wrong will be noticed.

No - he'll probably wonder why you are still at work this late of a day or he might give you a raise for working the extra 4 hours.
