I have a tour and assessment test at a company I have applied for. They said business casual. Now I know what that means for a guy but what about a girl? I have these bermuda length pin striped brown shorts with a nice sleeveless brown top not too low cut. Could I wear that? I mean it's in the 90's here and I will be outside for about 30 minutes then inside for about an hour. What do you think? Help.....

OK so I live in San Antonio Tx and it's a financial company. I have interviewed on the phone already and had 2 tests done online. Since I passed they offered for me to take a tour and take another test when I am there. No actual face to face interview at this time. I'm about 5'4 135 lbs. I'm thinned on the bottom and larger on the top. HELP!

that would be borderline for me. normally shorts and jeans of any kind are not appropriate for any sort of interviewing, especially with a new company. I would probably say maybe a longer pair capri pants or a skirt would be better bet. It is better to over dress to impress than to underdress.

I think a shirt is better than the shorts- even though they are burmuda style, I think they are too casual, and if anything overdressed is best. A modest sleeveless (but not spagetti straps) top with a skirt is your best bet, and you could get away with khaki pants if you wore a light jacket or sweater.

I think you should wear the bermuda shorts but wear a jacket with it, in place of the brown top. You can wear business casual when you've gotten the job. Remember, they may say business casual but first impressions are lasting ones.

It sounds like you might get away with it, but I'd be worried it was too casual. I think it would depend on what shoes you wore with the outfit.

You might be better off with a simple, summery dress (that's not too revealing (short, low cut).

Good luck!

What type of industry are you applying for? In what state is the company located? What size are you? What would be appropriate for one is not for all. These questions need to be answered before considering your attire.
