I met him at a softball game and we instantly hit it off. We have the same passions and we enjoy life. He has 2 sons. My children are grown. We talk at least twice a week. He is always stressed as am I. WE both dread going home to our partners and we tire of the fights and we both worry for hs kids. We also work night shifts and he lives in the northwest suburbs and I live in the southwest suburbs. We both agreed to leave our mates in an amicable manner, and we both want to be together without hurting his boys, whch I also care about.. HELP!!!

Well, an alcoholic relationship is a bad thing to be in, so leave your partner with the reason that he drinks too much. If he mistreated you, you have no obligations to treat him really really nicely when you want to leave. The first step is breaking up with the alcoholic, then everything else should fall into place with the dream guy.

Since you are both married, I would quit seeing the person. You must take care of the alcoholic by leaving them for their own sake. Then after a period of time when they finally hit bottom. They will need to go to upwards. Try to be there for your sake. See how it turns out. You'll never trust a married man and he will never trust you. So, try to hang in there for a year.
I hope you understand what I am saying.

What is the question? If you are both miserable in your present relationships.....then why not leave them to be happy with someone else.

Oh sure, go from one bad situation into a codependency nightmare. Yeah, goodluck with that.
