I m planing to go in for a device with Wi-fi enabled but is that worth it because i can get a device without wi-fi for a lower price but then i want to know wheter they would be useful for browsing and checking mails and small downloads and tings are they good?

wellsir, theres a few things to consider. how many computers are in the house? the wifi is a radio frequency that shoots out to any computer with a wifi adapter in the house, so if youve got more than 1 comp, it may be a good idea to get it. you will need a wireless adapter on any computer you want connected to the frequency. a wireless adapter is the device that attaches to the computer and picks up the signal. they are relatively cheap these days.

Wi-Fi nowadays is comparable to wired connections. Especially G connections. If you do get a device make sure it has both B and G. B is the most common network around, while G is nice and fast.

If your planning on getting a laptop with it it is. If your planning on getting a mobile like i have wi-fi on my nokia n80 then it is ok if you want to do mobile browsing but if it isnt too much extra then you may as well buy it

yea... generally speaking, WiFi works well when you wanna surf for relatively simple tasks like checking email and stuff.
