I want to say no, I don't believe in ghosts. There's no rational explanation for them. (Yet.) However, I have had an experience with what I believe to be a ghost. Every other explanation I've thought of has fallen short.
When my husband and I were on our honeymoon, we stayed with my grandma for a while. My grandpa had been dead for almost three years, so she let us sleep in her bed while she took the guest room. The first night we were there, I woke up out of a sound sleep for no reason. I looked around and there, in the corner of the room, was a white shape, about 6 feet tall and it was just staring at me. I gently shook my husband, who woke up immediately (also unusual--when he's asleep, typically only a loud noise can wake him up) I whispered to him, "Do you see that? In the corner?" He was real quiet for a few seconds and then said, "Yeah. I do." After looking at it for a few minutes and neither of us wanting to move, my husband said, "Let's go back to sleep. Goodnight, Virgil. I'm glad I got to meet you." (My grandpa's name was Virgil.)
The next morning, I thought it might have been a trick of the light. So we stayed up until about 2am the next night and then turned off the lights to see if the same trick was there. Just a dark corner.
When we told my grandma about it, she said that some weird things had been happening to her, too. Grandpa was a smoker (it's one of the things that lead to his death) but he respected my grandma, so he never smoked inside the house. For all the years they were married, no one visiting was ever aware that a smoker lived there. But after he died, she'd smell his brand of cigarettes in the house. At first, she thought she was imagining it, but grandpa's dog would perk up her ears and run around as if preparing to greet him.
Thing is, neither Grandma, my husband nor I ever felt threatened by this presence. In fact, it always has a calming effect.

I do believe and I have had many experiences. I will share a few about where I worked. I bartended at a bar that had lost of supernatural activity. I saw an orb of light one day on the dance floor. I saw the apparition of the ghost we call Rachelle in the Kitchen, I have smelled pipe tobacco, heard someone coughing in the kitchen when there was no one else in the building, seen pool sticks fall off the wall, the front door fly open, and have heard the bar stools slide across the floor and they weren't moving. Pretty neat stuff!

Anthony. He was my imaginary friend when I was 9. I haven't thought about that in a long time. I used to share and tell everything to him. One day when we were playing Hide and Seek he couldn't find me so he gave up. When I came out of this hiding place he snapped. He started yelling and cussing at me. He had never been a sore loser before. But a few minutes later he ran off. I found him in the bathroom crying. The next day we were playing again and a figure appeared like, a ghost. Anthony said, "Mommy NO! Please!" She didn't even seem to notice me and she started abusing him. I told my Mom but she just blew it off. The next day I did some research and it turned out a child named Anthony Harmone (pronounced Har-Mon) died on the exact same day as the day before of being abused by his mother. I confronted Anthony later and he said it was true. I got a Ouija board and asked Anthony questions. He said he couldn't see a light. So I asked a few more and helped him toward the light. He walked through it and never came back. I still missed him. Every now and then I heard a Thank you from a little boy, or a I miss you. But Now I don't. I find it wierd. I spent 2 years of my life researching the paranormal.

I think Ghosts are real. When i used to sleep over at my ex girlfriends house i had a few strange things happen while we were trying to go to bed. All of the lights were out and i thought i kept hearing someone saying something in the corner of the room next to the door. I tried to ignore it, but then i had this eerie feeling someone was in the room walking around, but my ex was asleep so i didnt want to wake her up. I fell asleep for what seemed like a couple minutes and i then i opened my eyes and saw a figure of a man walking right out of the room. After that i woke my ex girlfriend up and she said she believed me because she had some things happen to her as well. Another time we were watching tv in her basement and when we got done with the movie we turned off everything and went back up the stairs. We got almost to the top of the staircase and there was drumset in the corner its her brothers. We heard the drums bang really loud on the percussion for 4-5 seconds. We ran out of there and closed the door. Her family has no pets, and we knew for a fact that no one else was there in the house but us.

Yes. There is a ghost living in our house. well its not really a ghost i believe its just a spirit from a long long time ago. it has to be a child only because it likes to play with the toys on the back porch all the time. but its in a since a part of the family in a weird way. it has a sense of humor. it likes to mess with the cats in the back yard with the orange trees. but one thing it did was warn me that i was going to get fired from my job. it played pop goes the weasle in one of the toys. the only thing is my lil sis doesnt have any toys to play pop goes the weasle. so i looked up the meaning of the song. it meant the death of something.i read my tarot cards. it came up as death and deception. 1 week later. i found out my b/f was sleeping with my co-worker and i came to work upset. they fired me for insubordination for not being able to take n e calls at this call center for crying too much and loud....ha! i hate that place.

One day, at around 9:30 am, my wife was in the basement doing laundry and I was about 30 kilometres away at work. She says she heard the door open and footsteps on the floor above her. She said she heard me calling her and when she responded, I would not answer but I kept calling out to her. She went upstairs and to her surprise, found no one there and the front door closed. We had a lot of funny goings on in that house and I'm glad we're out of there now.

I walked into my house after a family Christmas party at my grandparents house. It was the first Christmas since my father had passed away in my house. My father was a heavy smoker, but no one else in my family smoked. As soon as I entered my house I was overcome with the smell of cigarette smoke. No one else had been in the house, and like I said no one else smoked. My husband and little brother-in-law smelled it as well. We wondered through the house looking for the source of the smell when the scent suddenly disappeared. I think it was Dad's way of saying Merry Christmas.

I do believe in ghosts, but to the extent that they are spirits that haven't entered the "spirit world" yet. Like, those ones that have stuff to do before they leave the world. I like to watch shows like Creepy Canada that show you a bit about different "haunted" places and their history.
