There is a girl at work (honestly, not me, I am not silly enough to haveone of these scares)

The doctor put her on the pill and told her to take it on the first day of her period, she took it 5 days into the period. She has been on the pill now for 6 days and the condom split last night.

Should she get a morning after pill?

She should NOT double up on the hormones. It will cause all sorts of problems.

If she had taken the pill as she was instructed she would have been protected. As it stands now she's probably STILL pretty safe, but there is that 2 day margin of error (the 5th day is 2 days short of the 7 day target date).

She needs to contact her doctor and ask HIS/HER advice.

Yes to be sure.
She should continue using other forms of protection at least 2 to 3 months after starting. This is so her body can get use to the birth control and not ovulating once a month like normal.

yeah, that would be a really good idea. most birth controls don't work until at leeeast a week, and usually take up to a month, even if it is supposidly a week.

i would definately recommend getting the morning after pill.

nope. As far as I know, if you start BC on the first day of your period it prevents ovulation from happening during the next cycle- meaning she isn't going to have an egg released this month. She should be totally fine.
