O.K., I will ignore the fact that it is from alternet

We won the war in Iraq when the first round of shooting was over and Saddam was captured. At that time we should have packed our bags and gone home. Let the Iraqis straighten out their country. Why does the USA go to war, win and then feel it is incumbent upon us to fix the mess? It is stupid. We want the people of these defeated countries to love us? Bull!!!! They will always hate up for winning the war. This is life and you can't buy love or admiration. Do the Germans love us today? Ha! Ask them and they will tell you about how lucky America was to win. Rebuilding Germany. Not a word from any of them. Same thing in Japan and I know because I spend a great deal of time in both countries.
Our part of the war in Iraq is over. Send the troops home at once. If there is strife, let the Iraqis iron it out.

Well, for the 3,600 dead American soldiers, the war is lost. And for the 1000 dead American contractors, and the 50,000 to 500,000 (who cares to count?) dead Iraqis it's lost, and for the 30,000 maimed American soldiers and the million maimed Iraqis and the 2 or 5 million displaced and imprisioned Iraqis, the war is lost, and the half trillion dollars spent so far is lost, and America's reputation as a friendly, choke gag, country is lost . And let's see, the gains are what, some OIL, and some no-bid contracts for Haliburton?

We did not lose the war in Iraq. America did not lose it. Bush and Cheney lost it.
And they will never admit it. The strongest truth serum on the planet could not get them to admit it, so deeply does Bush believe his own lies, and Cheney's reptilian skin could not be pierced with the needle containing the serum, and if forced to drink it his body would consider truth to be poison and he'd probably throw it up.

The war is not lost, unless you "thrown in the towel." In all wars, one side will win, the other will lose.
The only way to lose a war is:
1) Throw in the towel early
or
2) Be overwhelmed militarily and economically.
Now, tell me, who do you think has the most military and economic might? The U.S. or Iran (supporting insurgents).
Again, we can only lose if we quit.

No matter how much you would like to see us lose this war, it is not lost. This media that hates America so much is doing all they can to make sure we lose. They do their best to try to undercut the military every chance they get. This idea of having enbedded reporters with the troops is one of the worst ideas they have come up with. You say it is their right to be there. Your right, their on their own then. I wont put my *** on the line for one of them. If he dies, it's his own fault. These politicians are not helping thing much either. They everything they can to make sure we fail. All they talk about is the number of troops that are dieing over there. We 40,000 people a year die on our highways a year. Maybe we should pull the key out of the ignition and never out it back in. Appeasement don't work.

No. We're really close to losing, since the 'will to fight' is rapidly waning, but it's not lost until we actually surrender/pull out.

It's a fact that all liberals are fact challenged, does this mean we can finally put them aside as irrelevant?
