After installing Vista, updating my Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX GP drivers and enabling SLI, I am not able to activate the dual monitor feature. When I click "extend window to this monitor (the second monitor)" and apply settings, my screen goes black and stays this way. When I restart the PC it takes me to a failure screen. Then I have to access vista in safe mode and run the recovery wizard. I don't know if the problem is with one of my two Nvidia 8800 GTX or if it is a vista problem. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't say that vista is the problem for the following reason: I had the exact same PC, same config, with the very same OS (Vista), and it was working fine, with dual-monitor. I had to change that comuter because it was overheating. I know of the Vista problems and agree with u, but I don't think Vista is causing this one, I belive it may be one of the graphic cards, not sure...

NVidia was slow out of the gate with their Vista drivers - and they still have problems. Check their support site.

You can buy a new hard drive and install Vista on it. You don't have to take the old hard drive out or take Vista off.Make the new drive first boot device in the BIOS and then use the old hard drive for storage or you can transfer the files you want to the new drive. You can delete all the Windows folder and Program Files off the old drive to make more space if you want.

My bet would be a Vista problem.

Never get the first release of a Microsoft OS.

At least they are working on SP1 already. Apparently they started on SP1 before Vista actually shipped!

Get a computer that doesn't have Vista or take Vista off. My computer came with Vista and it crashes all the time. I have to reboot it at least once a week. I HATE VISTA! It's a very bad program and until they perfect Vista...No one should use it...
