I am thinking of buying a computer for my dorms. Which is the cheapest kind and where do I find 'em. Any 'back to school offer' from Circuit City or Radioshack? I already have a keyboard and a mouse. All I need is a monitor and PC (desktop, half, full whatev).
How much do you think it'll all cost? Any websites on finding cheap parts etc?

There this computer that holds a lot of memory (320 G) and it is at Walmart for $698. You can buy some cheaper, but not much cheaper, but they will mess up on you and since you are in school, you'll need one that will hold all the stuff you put on there. That is the best one that I have found, because it comes with the computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, & speakers! Computers now days...you have to buy everything separatly and you'll end up paying that much anyway, so why not go ahead and pay that much and get an all around better computer? Good Luck!

I would suggest getting a computer from DELL or the Dell Outlet. You can find a computer with everything you need here (PC and monitor) that will do what you want for under $500. If you have not built a computer before, I would not suggest doing this unless you are pretty sure you know what you are doing.

Mwave.com or newegg.com You can build a nice system for around $350 or less depending on how good of a system you want. Im talking around 3.4Ghz with 2gb DDRII Ram and a 250Gb drive and a PCI-E video card The monitor will be the most expensive thing unless you want to go with a second hand one.

I heard that if you buy an apple computer than you get a free ipod nano. But you have to ask the store about the offer first.
