Did Rocky's wife Adriane relay die in real life so they wrote her to die in the movies?

From what I understand, the original screenplay did have Adriane dead already so it was not an issue of Talia Shire dying (she is alive) or not wanting to do another Rocky. Personally, I was very pleasantly surprised by Rocky Balboa, it went a long way in making up for Rocky V which was just dreadful.

"YO ADRIAN" who pronounced that? ROCKY DID. who doesnt awaken and dream of being ROCKY????
