i can tell an american accent,but i think there american then they say she's canadian

Yes,I would say it's probably you.
I have a lot of family in Canada,and they do have an accent....I also have family in America,and they have the most annoying accent!!!!
I mean,they are family,but I can't stand the way they talk!!

If you were to hear the two, they are actually quite distinct.
For instance, the word "about" in the US accent has the "out" pronounced just like the word "out", whereas in Canada, it sounds more like "aboot".

The word "project" is pronounced with a hard "O" in Canada (i.e. Pro, as in pro athlete).

There are a number of words that if you are listening carefully, you will hear the pronunciation distinction.

You will also hear most true Canadians end their sentences with "Eh" (pronounced "ay"). Not necessarily as a question, but simply a unique and endearing inflection.

I can!
Canadians speak more softly and squeakily. I have a Canadian teacher at school and my school and her voice is always very squeaky.

oh come on mark don't tell me you can't recognize an American accent!?
