its a nigerian one.. again..

they are asking for your details for identity fraud.... even if they don't ask for money

notice they either give a free mail address? as they aren't in any bank.. they are probably sitting in an internet cafe, sending out that stuff..

i am sometimes tempted to copy paste them an email with a load of rubbish details just to return the favour.. if everyone did that they'd soon get bored..

although people are fighting them back, playing them at their own game..

along with them sorta scams , beware of ebay ones where the buy appaears to be english, then gives you some RUBBISH that its a present for their daughters birthday and they would like you to send it to Nigeria instead.

if people weren't so STUPID in giving them money etc, then they would give up.

There is a 99% chance that it is coming from outside the country. I receive many each day and it is up to the individual to be savvy enough to know it is a scam. There is nothing you can do other than mark as spam.

The senders are pretty smart and able to change all the trace information constantly. It is very difficult to screen them out.

BTW: The way most of these money scams work is they will send you a valid looking check, ask you to deposit it, and wire some money back to them. Of course the check will bounce in a week.

Scam.

Why would some stranger in Hong Kong need you to help them transfer $22 million dollars? Are you a banking expert? Can you do something that his lawyers or business experts can not?

He wants your name, phone, address, etc., and THEN he will tell you why???? That should be sending up all kinds of red flags.

And he is in Hong Kong, but as a Yahoo address in the USA??? I see a problem with that....

SCAM!!!!!

There Should Be A Spam Report Section in your email providers forms on your account. you can report the email address as spam. in which case it will be treated as such if found to be true and deleted.
You can also report to the police who will take the neccesary actions to ensure the safety of others.
Good Luck and God Speed.

Unfortunately marking it as spam in your email is the only way to do anything. If you want to inform your friends and family, forward this to them.

It lets people know that many many versions of this scam are out there and not to fall victim.
Most email addresses are fake, untraceable or out of the country.

since he has an yahoo address...report it as abuse to yahoo.
then block his address from your email
then delete the sucker....you are right it is a scam..but you would be surprised how many people fall for this stuff.

good catch.

good luck

try reporting it to yahoo/spam department. its not much they can do, since you haven't actually accepted anything from them.
