I don't dislike introverts - I used to be much more introverted when I was younger. So I understand it :) But I do remember getting feedback from others after I got to know them.
I was really surprised to hear that their first impression of me was not so much that I was "shy" or introverted, but that they were intimidated by me.
According to some friends at first, I came of as aloof, like a"strong silent type" - which always keep them guessing and a bit uneasy.
Since I knew that this was not my intention... to make others feel "uncomfortable", I started to come out of my shell.
I also realized that most people are more focused on "what others think about them" in a social situation then they are focused on what they think about everyone else. Once I understood this basic truth, I felt much more at ease.
I focused on the other person and asked them questions about themselves ( people love to talk about themselves :)
I asked even if I wasn't "really" interested because then the others person felt that I was engaged in the conversation even if I was just listening. This allowed me to remain true to my tendency to be introverted and not make others feel intimidated or uncomfortable.
Hope this helps
P.s.
I also found ways that I could be comfortable in social situations with out feeling I needed to accommodate everyone else. I would take the time to do the social expectations ...like introducing myself, commenting on something about them ( postive) and then asking them a question about this or that... then I could just sit back and listen to blah, blah.
Ironically now I find myself being the center of many conversations and actually enjoying myself :) In Small doses.
I still enjoy my quiet time and I don't feel bad for taking it.

There’s nothing wrong with being an introvert. Extroverts get all the attention, and most introverts I know are just fine with that. Let the extrovert make a name for himself or a fool of himself.
But do people perceive you as haughty or snobbish because you’d rather not talk to them?

I'm an introvert. Introverts have their weaknesses just like extroverts. There is a fair balance between the two which I try to achieve. I like extroverts because they get things done and they have wit when they do it. I like introverts because they know how to keep their mouths shut when the occasion calls for it. :)

Honestly I really don't like a girl who is introvert but I do have friends who are introverts but when it comes to girls, I like who can be open about their feelings and who can socialize well with others..I'm sure you aren't like that..as you have opened up your feelings here on the net which you need to do it on real life too.. But I'm sure you will come out of your shell oneday.. like I did..I was a shy kid but I had lots of friends.. as time went by I overcame my shyness...and now I can socialize well with anybody...goodluck

I don't dislike them, they just make me uncomfortable. Depending on how much time I spend with them, I can make them come out of their shell, because I talk so much....
