The water pressure in my home is pretty low. The water company says there is a leak on my side. How did they know that? I dont see any leaks anywhere. Now what do I do? Thanks

It would have to be a pretty big leak to effect the pressure and seems likely that it would show up somewhere. There would be standing water or at least a soggy spot in your yard along the pipe route from the meter to your house or, if under the house, a similar situation around the foundation.

Here's some tests. If you can see the water meter, turn off everything in the house and see if the meter moves. If you can't see the meter, put your ear to a metal part of the plumbing system to hear water moving.

If none of that tells you anything, make sure your shut-off valve, both in the house and at the meter, is fully open.

That notwithstanding, if your house is old, you may have mineral deposits built up inside the pipes which would reduce flow and pressure.

First off , the easiest way to determine if you have a leaks is to turn all the water off in the house. Then go to your water meter. It should not be moving ( or counting). If it is then the leak is after the meter, which means it's on your side. Hopefully not.
Also, at different times of the day water pressure varies. It's less at 7:30 a.m. b/c everyone in the neighborhood is taking a shower and drawing water from the same line.
i hope this helps.

Turn all your water off and go out to the meter that the city reads and see if it is moving. No water on and it moves you have a leak.

They probably "listened" to your inlet pipe at the curb shut-off valve. With a piece of metal rod sitting on top the valve, and your ear against it, you can hear water running. If you have a meter-box in your yard, you can see water movement on the dial. It will be your resposibility to repair the leak.
