Hello, the answer to your question will be no. By the time of the Olmec Golden age, the people living in todays United States were hunter-gatherer nomadic tribes. Olmecs were a more closed, self oriented culture. Not even the other Mesoamerican cultures had a direct contact with the Olmecs. By the time of Aztec or Mayan golden ages, the Olmecs were already gone. However the Olmec did have contact with asian cultures. Read the book about Chinese discovery of America to find out more.

I am currently reading a cookbook called Peppers, Cracklins and Knots of Wool about the ongoing effect African cooking has had on society as a whole. It traces cooking skills learned on the continent of Africa to Olmec settlements, Asian settlements and settlements of nomadic tribes in the continental United States. Based on this, I would say at least nominal contact.

the olmecs did not have any contact with tribes in the united states, nor did they have contact with peoples from africa or china. it is very poosible they were in contact with certain peoples in south america as evidenced with artifacts found which originated in south america.
