this lady at my work is always on my back constantly like competing with me. it's so annoying. i met her about a year before I started working under her and she was cool but like a bullsh.i.tter.... if you know what i mean. says anything just to get along with people.

anyway... she copies the way i talk, act, and dress. it pisses me off a lot.

has anyone had this happen to him/her before?

I have always found that you can kill people with kindness. Ask her out to lunch and try to find out what is really going on.

You have a fan, perhaps obsessive.

She feels like she is a nobody, and you are popular.

Rent the DVD "Single White Female" and get an education.

Best practice would be to get a different job.

Option B would be.. Next time she does something to copy you, say "I am really uncomfortable with where our working relationship is going and If you do not stop these overtly sexual advances, I'll be forced to speak with (someone in personell, or a boss, etc.) If she is the boss, seek a different job, as soon as possible.

Good luck.

HAY THERE SWEETIE: just food 4 thought if she copies the way you dress. than that's a compliment. if she copies the way you talk its a compliment. apparently you have quality's she likes, sounds to me like your boss or co worker is trying to stay young, can you 4 give her? bet you are a kool young lady. if it bothers you that much then try to just have a professional relationship at work , and leave the friend junk alone. keep your mind on the job and less on how much she annoys you. is she aware of how she makes you feel.?. be the mature one and be good at your job, be all you can be, that's just life. you are wasting your energy on one person . that's to much time spent on frivolousness. good luck girlie. pay her no mind

This happened to a friend of mine. You have to try to take it as a compliment. You should point out to her that she's doing it like saying, Oh your blouse is just like mine, and oh you styled your hair like mine, keep saying little things like this then when you see someone else in the office maybe wearing the same style say to her oh so in so has on the same style blouse as me, she must be trying to copy me. I know it seems petty but she should get the message without you having to come straight out with it.

Kind of, sort of (it happened to me), maybe you should start dressing really tacy and ugly, and talk in another language, see what she does then. If she is a kiss a ss then you just will see, most people don't like those anyway, and they will see right through her, if not, then try to point it out to people, they will notice it sooner or later.

ignore her....

if you refuse to respond or react to her, you will also stop allowing her to control your emotions.

let it be a one-sided competition.... and just do your job.

she probably thinks a lot of you, which is why she is emulating you... some people do these things... maybe it's a compliment in disguise?
