A and B? I only see choices B, C, and D.

C is obviously incorrect as she had nothing to do with the map making itself.

B and D are merely speculative and a definitive historically true answer can not be given, just opinions.

My opinion would be B, as being a shoshone captured by enemy tribes, she was welcomed back to her tribe and thus had some familial allies in coming to the agreement to sell horses to L&C.

North American Indians had an outstanding answer to commerce issues between tribes -- besides to the oral language that each and every tribe spoke (and there have been 1000's of different languages) they used an indication language that replaced into undemanding to the main important tribes in a paying for and promoting section. that's what Sacagawea replaced into in a position to translate. Her husband, who initially instructed Lewis and Clark he replaced right into a translator (and a great style of different issues to boot) replaced into no longer able to do any of the failings he claimed to be gifted at, and replaced right into a real drag on the day holiday.

Sacagawea was very helpful with getting horses and aid from the Shoshone, but her real aid was just because she was a woman. No war party brought women along, so the Indians knew the party was not trying to bring war to them, so they were willing to talk, trade, etc.

a and b
sacagawea was a shoshone indian
and the fact that she was with the 'core of discovery' along with her son who was born during the journey, the party looked less like a war party...the indians did not see them as much of a threat ...so thanks to her and her child the party was able to keep faily good relations with indians. I would go with choice a to be more accurate. I was saying that a was not the correct answer and because of a their chances of survival were much greater.
